Walking Trails Near You

Summer is almost here and that means it’s time to get outside and walk!

Not only is walking great for your physical health, it can also improve your mood and reduce stress. Physical activity doesn’t need to be complicated and something as simple as a daily walk can help maintain a healthy weight, improve coordination, and has even been shown to prevent or manage heart disease and high blood pressure.

Technique

With all physical activity, a good technique is everything. When walking, be sure to keep your head up and look forward. Relax your neck, back, and shoulders but keep your back straight, not arched. Roll smoothly from heel to toe and gently swing your arms. That’s all there is to it!

Now that you have your technique down, it’s time to hit the trails. Below are a few of our favorite walking trails.

Massillon – Sippo Valley Trail: Approximately 8-miles, this trail is great for a casual walk or jog. The trail transitions from asphalt to limestone overlooking Sippo Creek for most of the route.
